Much Ado About Nothing

William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is a romantic comedy about what happens when the war ends and the celebration begins. Full of salacious secrets, devious schemes, clowns on the case, music, dance and the distinct possibility of true love, Much Ado is a springtime romp for lovers and poets of all ages.

Performances will be May 29, 30, 31 and June 5, 6, 7. 

 

We are looking for performers age 16 and up to fill the following roles:

  • Leonato, governor of Messina, Hero's father, Beatrice’s Uncle - 60s-70s

  • Antonio, brother to Leonato, Uncle to Hero and Beatrice - 60s - 70s

  • Benedick, a soldier from Padua and companion of Don Pedro - 20s-40s

  • Claudio, a Count of Florence and companion of Don Pedro, friend to Benedick - 20s - 30s

  • Don Pedro, Prince of Aragon - 20s - 40s

  • Balthasar, attendant on Don Pedro, a singer - 20s - 40s

  • Beatrice, niece of Leonato - 20s-30s

  • Hero, daughter of Leonato - 20s- 30s

  • Margaret, waiting gentlewoman attendant on Hero - 20s - 30s

  • Ursula, waiting gentlewoman attendant on Hero - 40s- 60s

  • Don John, the Bastard Prince, brother of Don Pedro - 20s - 40s

  • Borachio, follower of Don John - 20s - 40s

  • Conrad, follower of Don John - 20s - 40s

  • Dogberry, the constable in charge of Messina's Night Watch - the clown - any age 

  • Verges, the Headboro, Dogberry's partner, 60s - 80s

  • First Watch, a member of the watch - any age

  • Second Watch, also known as George Seacole - any age

  • Friar Francis, a priest - 30s - 70s

  • Sexton, the judge of the trial of Borachio - 30s - 70s
