About the Show:

“Richard Sherman roams restlessly around his empty apartment, bemoaning the fact that his wife of seven years, and their son, have just walked out on him. Then, without warning, a gigantic flower pot tumbles down from an overhead balcony, nearly putting him permanently out of his misery. The jarring event has a strange effect on Richard. He now sees his marriage as wasted time and feels it necessary to exercise his libido as quickly as possible. Suddenly reborn, he invites the young woman who lives on the floor above down for an evening of temptation. The night doesn't quite go the way he thought it would, as morality and guilt sneak into his head. In his conscience—literally following him about the apartment—a soul-struggle of heroic and hilarious proportions ensues.” (Concord Theatricals)

MAINSTAGE SEASON CHANGE

Late last year, the Indiana Players’ Board of Directors were informed that we could no longer get the rights to produce Kimberly Akimbo as originally planned for the 2023-2024 season. We are very happy to announce that we will be replacing the empty spot in the season with a fun new take on an old classic:

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Written by William Shakespeare

Directed by Meghan N. Cronin

Assistant Directed by Bill Herring

Performances: April 12, 13, 14 and 19, 20, 21

About the Show:

The Roaring 20’s! Victorian and Edwardian strictures are forced to give way to youthful rebellion. Young lovers run away, lured by this glitz and glam-filled underworld, seeking the freedom they don’t have at court. They are pursued by two of their peers, one trying to stop the pair and one following in hopes that she will win back her lost love. Meanwhile, a rag-tag group of blue-collar workers attempt to prepare a classic play for the Duke’s wedding. All find themselves caught in the magical crossfire of a marital spat gone awry.

REMEMBERING PATRICIA GAINES-HOLMES

We were saddened to learn of the loss of a beloved member of our theatre family, Patricia Gaines-Holmes. Through her many years with the Players, as a dedicated volunteer, a steadfast audience member, and as a talented performer in her own right, Miss Patti touched so many lives. She was a strong maternal role model, a wise mentor, a fierce advocate, and a treasured friend.  We feel her loss keenly, yet we know that her beautiful presence will continue to inspire us all. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family at this difficult time.

A visitation will be held here in Indiana, PA for friends, family, and all the many people in our community whose hearts and lives have been forever touched by Miss Patricia Gaines-Holmes.
