NEXT ON THE MAINSTAGE: PUFFS or SEVEN INCREASINGLY EVENTFUL YEARS AT A CERTAIN SCHOOL OF MAGIC AND MAGIC

Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic

Written by Matt Cox ● Directed by Shane Sedlemyer

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers, the Puffs' epic journey takes the classic story to new places and re-imagines what a boy wizard hero can be. Puffs is a tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.

INDIANA PLAYERS’ SHAKESPEARE TEAM

The Indiana Players Shakespeare Team will be holding its first organizational meeting on Saturday, September 30, at 1:00pm at the Philadelphia Street Playhouse. Our team competes in the Pittsburgh Public Theater’s annual Shakespeare Monologue and Scene Contest, which is usually held in early February. In preparation for that event, we typically meet weekly on a Saturday or Sunday. The contest is open to students in grades 4 through 12. We encourage all students in those grades who would like to have fun refining their acting skills to participate. For more information about the team or the contest, contact John Henry Steelman (jhsteelman@gmail.com). Anyone who is interested but cannot attend this first meeting should definitely contact John Henry, as the times for future meetings will be chosen to accommodate the students’ other commitments.

A Christmas Peter Pan is a play with music and a youth-friendly, Junior Script.

There are a few dancing roles (fairies). Please bring jazz or ballet shoes if you would like to audition as a dancer. Dancers will still need to read from the script and prepare a short song.

About the Show: It's Christmas Eve and Tinker Bell summons Wendy, Michael and John to help her save Peter Pan and Santa Claus from Captain Hook and his terrible Pirates. Santa Claus has been frozen in the North Pole and can't deliver the presents on Christmas! With help from the audience, the Children help Peter Pan escape Captain Hook's clutches and we're off on an adventure! A Christmas Peter Pan takes its cue from JM Barrie's beloved classic story, "Peter Pan". The boy who refuses to grow up leads Tinkerbell, Wendy, Snow Fairies, Christmas Elves and Santa's Lost Toys on a lively fun romp through the North Pole and home again just in time for Christmas morning! Clever lyrics are set to familiar Christmas Carols that everyone, including the audience, gets to sing together.
