Coming up at the Philadelphia Street Playhouse, we kick off our 2008/2009 Season with...

September 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, & 21

The Man Who Came to Dinner is a comedy by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. The play is set in the 1930s small town of Mesalia, Ohio in the weeks leading to Christmas. Sheridan Whiteside, a famous radio personality from New York City, has been invited to dine at the house of rich factory owner Ernest W. Stanley and his family. However, before Whiteside enters the house, he slips on a patch of ice outside the front door and injures his hip. A tumultuous six weeks of confinement follow as the Stanley living room is monopolized by the irascible invalid. Directed by Jim Chapman.

Show dates are September 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21.

Fridays & Saturdays 8:00 p.m. , Sundays 2:00 p.m.
Tickets: $10.00 — Students/Seniors: $8.00

Lost Recordings

Many of the master tapes of old IPI performances, stored in Jim Chapman’s house, were lost when fire destroyed his home. Please help us to rebuild our library of past shows. If you or someone you know has recordings of old performances, please contact helptheplayhouse@yourinter.net so we can create copies for posterity.
